Sympathies:
Kiltubrid GAA would like to offer their deepest sympathies to our former treasurer, Teresa Keaney, her sisters Noreen and Josephine, brother Joe, many grandchildren and extended family on the recent passing of their mother, Annie (Nancy) Moran of Drumkeelanbeg.
We would also like to offer our deepest sympathies to Bridgie mc Girl on the recent passing of John Joe mc Girl, and to their five children, Micheal, Sean, Joe, Christina and Mary, many grandchildren and extended family. May their souls rest in peace.

Virtual SoloRun from Kiltubrid to Croke Park:
In these uncertain times, with fundraising opportunities currently scarce at a local level, we want to lend a helping hand to two local organizations in Kiltubrid who provide an essential voluntary service in our community. Kiltubrid Care of the Aged provides a social outlet & support network for the elderly in our community which includes day trips and Christmas social nights, which bring the elderly in our community together. Kiltubrid Defibrillator Group runs a First Responder Voluntary Service in our community with seven operational defibrillator units throughout the area and fully trained personnel in Heartsaver CPR & AED. In 1983, a Solo-Run from Dublin to Kiltubrid was held to fundraise for the fledgling Kiltubrid GAA which was a massive event at the time. To celebrate this event 37 Years Ago, Kiltubrid people of all ages, both male & female are asked to get involved in a Virtual Solo-Run over June 20th & 21st with the total distance covered between Kiltubrid and Croke Park by return of 340KM. You can undertake the Solo-Run in your Back Garden or in a Safe Area with Social Distancing in mind. Regardless of distance covered or where you are in the world, we want you and your Family to upload a picture in your Green & Red colours to the Kiltubrid GAA Facebook page. Donations to this event can be made securely online via the link below: https://www.gofundme.com/f/kiltubridtocrokeparksolorun

Sympathy:
We offer our deepest sympathies to Pete Matthews and former underage players Roland and Rinald Semjanovskis and extended family, on the recent death of Josie Matthews, Keshcarrigan. The two fine young men that the lads have become is a testament to Pete and Josie.
May she rest in peace.

Let's think of the older and more vulnerable among us. Please, please, please stay at home  unless your job is classed as essential from the government. Yes it's difficult, but it will be worth it.  Whether you're passing the time these days by participating in virtual quizzes, doing home workouts, perfecting your gardening skills or watching Netflix, stay safe and remain positive.

Finding it hard to think of exercises at home?:
If you're looking for a workout at home, why not follow Kiltubrid's own Proinsias Gilmartin who is putting a 15 minute workout on Facebook/Instagram everyday. Find him at pt_prunchy Keep er lit Prunchy!

Social distancing:
Our ears are red from hearing about this, but it's crucial we keep doing it to save lives.  You know the rule, don't be a fool!  Keep two metres apart from people at all times.  This won't last forever. When it's history, hug your loved ones as tight as you can, go to the football pitch as often as you can, use your local businesses as often as you can.  For now, stay at home as much as possible and stay safe folks.

The Crisis Continues:
As the Coronavirus issues are still ongoing, all GAA fixtures are postponed until further notice. Please note that the gym at the pitch remains off limits and is not to be used by anyone under any circumstances.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining:
Kids are off school, some adults are off work and many are housebound. Why not get some home workouts done to keep yourself ticking over while spending quality time with loved ones. Whether you're young or old, we can all join in and be ready when the season resumes. That could be hitting a ball off a wall, jogging laps of a nearby road or field, a simple walk along the Blueway, or if you're a gym bunny, you could bang out 100 press ups, sit ups and chin ups before breakfast!! Stay positive!

Paddy's Day:
It will be the most unusual Paddy's day many of us will have experienced with no parade or pubs blaring out Irish music. We can all put our own personal twist on Paddy's day this year as we won't have to follow the status quo. Whatever you do, wherever you spend it, Kiltubrid GAA would like to wish all its members at home and abroad, a very happy and positive Paddy's day.

Kiltubrid win on International Debut:
Well done to the first team who came out victorious against Glenfarne on our first game played outside of Europe.. It was a low scoring affair of 0-07 - 0-05.  MacDiarmada Gaels Under 17s had a good victory over Mohill, while the Under 13s lost out to St Patrick's of Longford.

John 3:7
The famous sign seen in Croke Park for years is no more; the man behind the slogan has passed to his eternal reward. The late Frank Hogan took his large yellow billboard to many high profile games at H.Q..  May he rest in peace..

The Whackman turns the big 40:
Celebrations were in full flight last Saturday night in Kesh, as club stalwart Barry mc Kiernan turned the big 40. He may move like a 65 year old on the football pitch, but on the dancefloor last Saturday night, he was a cross between a 25 year old Micheal Flatley and a Micheal mc Girl in his prime ,with the tie elegantly knotted around his forehead. Happy birthday to Barry from all at Kiltubrid GAA.

Leitrim beat Louth:
Massive well done to the Leitrim team, who travelled to Louth last Sunday with their backs against the wall and pulled off a very convincing 3-14 to 2-12 victory
