The club wish to extend sympathy to Stephen and the Guckian Family,
Scardaun on the death of Paddy Guckian, Tullamore. May he rest in peace.
- Mr & Mrs Competition
guaranteed you loads of laughs and anyone that was there on the night
was not disappointed. After some very high scoring and bonus points for
party pieces the judges still couldn’t call it and we had a tie breaker
situation but in the end our Mr & Mrs Winner was announced as Brad
and Angelina (aka Karol Scollan and Aidan Bohan). After being presented
with the winning cup, sash and rosette, first prize was sponsored by
Louis for a meal for two in Louis’s Restaurant at Gerties Keshcarigan,
so Angelina will have to get on her party dress, tan and make up again
when herself and Brad have they’re romantic night out.
Although they’ re could
only be one winner we want to say a huge thank you to all our
contestants Barra and Sinead MhicThiarnain, Karol Scollan and Aidan
Bohan (Brad & Angelina), Carol and Kevin Keany, Martina and Patrick
Gilmartin and Deirdre and Liam Ferry. Without you we couldn’t have had
the competition and thank you for participating and being such good fun
on the night. For those of you that missed it photos will soon be
available. A big thank you as well to all who gave spot prizes Andy Mc
Nabola, Kieran and Mary Mc Keon, Coleman’s Shop Keshcarrigan, Gerties,
Kevin Meehan, Cllr Francie Gilmartin, Tommy and Mary McNamara, Padraig
Lynch, Cardiff’s and Karol Scollan. Thanks also to other people who
helped out on the night Kevin Nealon, Michael James Mc Kiernan, Finbarr
Keaney, Breda Holahan, Jenny McKiernan, PJ Meehan and Brendan Doyle.
Also James and Eilish Cardiff for the use of their premises, Darragh
Gibbons for the disco and of course to all who came along on the night
to support us. Your continued support is always greatly appreciated.
And last but by no means least to our MC on the night Brian Meehan who
made the night such a huge success, thank you very much. After Friday
night’s performance Brian is inundated with bookings and rumour has it
that Catherine Lynch has been in contact for an appearance in her show!
Finally, the club wish to thank treasurers Teresa Keaney and Ann
McNabola for all their time and hard work in organising the event, keep
up the good work!
best wishes to club assistant treasurer John Flynn and his wife Aisling
on the birth of their new little baby girl Orla. Another future player
for the ladies team!
