Martin Moran RIP
All too soon again our parish was shook to the core when the news spread about the tragic accident that took Martin Moran away from us in a most untimely fashion. The Club extends its sincere sympathy to his heartbroken wife Sandra daughter Amy his parents Liam and Carmel to his brothers Micheal, Joe, Gerry and sister Antoinette together with the extended Moran and Tivnan families and a wide circle of friends and relatives. As well as being an accomplished athlete, Martin starred for many years at all underage levels for Kiltubrid.  He was an instrumental member of the 1988 under 16 team who won the league and championship double.  Martin was known on the field for his courage, speed and agility and was renowned for a having a left foot that Padraig Joyce would be proud of. Never a player to shy away when the game wasn’t going our way, you could always rely on Martin with that fabulous left foot to get stuck in and engineer a score or two. The huge turnout of people at Martins home, funeral mass and guard of honour is an indication of the high esteem and huge respect that people have for Martin. We hope that the fantastic community spirit and support that has been shown in the past week will help the family and neighbours and that it will in some way help them through this very difficult and sad time. As a mark of respect a minutes silence was held before that start of the Kiltubrid v Carrigallen championship game on Sunday. Ar dheis de go raimh an ainm.

Fixtures and results
We had a disappointing game in our Round 2 Senior Championship game on Sunday afternoon when we were comprehensively beaten by a slick Carrigallen side in Cloone. Our next game is on Saturday 3rd August in Drumkeerin when we play Melvin Gaels at 6pm.
Our Under 14 team are fixed to play Glenfarne Kltyclogher in the championship at home in Kiltubrid this Friday evening at 7 pm. Your support as always is appreciated.

Celebrating their birthdays this week are Niall Daly, Carol Keaney and a belated happy 21st birthday to Aine Tighe, no doubt she marked the occasion well on her travels. Also celebrating their 21st this weekend was Aidan Bohan, well I only got as far as counting 21 candles before he blew them out so maybe there were a few more! We wish you all many happy returns.
