U8 and U10
The U8's and U10's travelled to Drumshanbo on Saturday morning for a very enjoyable and worthwhile blitz with Allen Gaels. Thanks to Allen Gaels for hosting this blitz and for their hospitality afterwards.
The U12 boys game was cancelled last Thursday evening as a mark of respect to the late John Joe Redican, RIP. This game will be rescheduled at a later date. On Thursday evening next they take on Garadice Gaels in Drumreilly at 7pm.
Kelloggs Cúl Camps:
On Sunday morning last, Kiltubrid played Gortletteragh in the Division 3 league. The game ended on a scoreline of Kiltubrid 2-22 to Gortletteragh 3-09. This result means that Kiltubrid are now in the Division 3 semi final against Aghavas. This will be played in Aghavas on Sunday morning next at 12.30pm. On Saturday evening at home, the next round of the Division 2 league will be played at home at 7pm against Drumreilly.
Irish Water Safety Swim and Life Saving Classes
Irish Water Safety Swim and Life Saving Classes will take place at Cleighran More, Ballinaglera at 10 a.m. on 1st August to the 12th August. Adult classes available if sufficient numbers. Contact Kathleen on 087 1302309 or Teresa on 087 9900079.
The death has occurred of John Joe Redican, Crummy. Suddenly at his residence. Sadly missed by his loving wife Brigid, his sons Sean, Bernie, Gerry, Paul, Tony, his daughters Brigid, Trudy, Jacqueline and Roseline, sisters Mary Anne, Brigid and Eileen, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Removal on Thursday last to St Brigid’s Church, Drumcong. Funeral Mass on Friday with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. John Joe was a great supporter of Kiltubrid GAA and was present at many matches at all grades over the years. On behalf of Kiltubrid GAA we wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the Redican family at this sad time. May he Rest in Peace.
An Tóstal Road Races
The An Tóstal in conjunction with Drumshanbo Athletic club hosted an AAI verified and Chip Timed 10km, 5km, 2.5km and a Family Canal Walk with a Children's Scavenger Hunt on Sunday last. There were many local participants on the day with several pieces of silverware returning to Kiltubrid. Teresa Mylott (Mahon) was the third female finisher in the 10km. Darragh Lee was the first U18 in the 5km and also the first Drumshanbo Athletic Club member home in the 5km. Danny Mc Weeney was first in the Under 14, 2.5km followed in third by Dylan Easterbrook. Jack Moolick was second in the U10 2.5km. Well done to all.
