Fixtures and results
The senior team bowed out of the 2014 senior championship on Saturday evening last. In a game of two halves, Kiltubrid dominated
the opening half and led at the break by three points, on a score line of 1-5
to 1-2. Whatever Allen Gales took at half time certainly worked. They completely outplayed us in the second
half and outscored us in the second period by 1-6 to 0-1. The final score at the long whistle, Allen
Gaels 2-8; Kiltubrid 1-6. Allen Gaels now progress to the last four and we wish
them well in the semi finals with Aughawillan as their opposition.
On Sunday morning our Junior team fared much better and had a deserved win
against Carrigallen in the Junior A Quarterfinal. We now progress to the Junior A championship
semi final. This semi final draw has been made; we again meet neighbours Allen
Gaels in this game, which has been fixed for Friday 12th September
under lights in Cloone.
The minor team shipped a heavy defeat against Melvin Gales on Wednesday evening
last at home in Kiltubrid. However we
are still positioned second in our group. In our final group game we play
Drumkeernan away in Drumkeernan at 7pm on this Wednesday evening at 7 pm.
School’s In
Best of luck to our underage members, many of which are starting out at
secondary level this week. Make sure to
make good use of your time as the years will fly by. Remember not to overdo it on the study and
keep some time free for sporting interests.
